ABOUT ME
My name is Charlotte (she/her) and I am a dancer, singer, and actress from Hampton Roads, VA. At a young age, I followed my older sister’s footsteps to baby ballet classes and, with the support of my wonderful family, I have been studying the arts ever since. I spent four years at The Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA in the Dance and Musical Theatre departments. This May, I graduated from Florida State University with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre. I spent a life-changing semester at FSU’s Theatre Academy London in 2023. I am endlessly grateful for my GSA and FSU faculty and friends who have believed in me, pushed me, and supported me.
I recently moved to Jersey City and I am currently training at Broadway Dance Center in the Professional Semester program. I am so grateful to be establishing a life in New York that is packed full of training and connection with fellow dancers.
I am an artist because I believe art is how we remind one another of our humanity and develop empathy for those whose experiences we will never fully understand. The performing arts, in particular, can strengthen communities on and off stage by demonstrating how similar our hearts are, no matter how different our lives may look.
Outside of theatre and dance, I spend as much time as I can outdoors, always searching for a nearby park, river, lake, or beach. If I get distracted mid-conversation, it’s probably because an interesting bird flew by (if you’ve never seen a Swallow-Tailed Kite, google it, she’s beautiful). Iced coffee is my favorite treat so local cafes are my favorite way to get to know new areas. I’ve always got my eye out for new music from Sammy Rae & The Friends. And I love to read! Some of my favorite authors are Becky Chambers and TJ Klune. I am currently reading the Harry Potter series (for the first time!) and Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar and I update my reading journey on StoryGraph and goodreads.
